Description: The Wright-Dalton-Bell-Anchor Department Store building sits in the heart of Poplar Bluff's historic commercial district. Buildings in the vicinity date from the late 19th and early 20th Century, many of which were reconstructed or updated after a deadly tornado hit the town in 1927. Constructed in 1927-28, o, the Wright-Dalton-BellAnchor Department Store building has classically derived terra cotta elements around the storefronts as well as on the stepped parapet.
